I just came across a blog author's farewell blog entry that I found to be very disturbing. I can find no other reference to it on the internet so am left wondering what happened to him. Before the alarming final entry the author chronicles losing his job and looking for work in IT:

I just received a reply from a friend of the blogger which contained heartening news:
"When that last post was written, Alan had just lost his job and was feeling really down. As you know, many people identify themselves by their job, and when they lose the employment, they are lost. They are left literally without an identity and with a sense of shame and lack of self worth. That is what happened to Alan. Fortunately, he has found other work, and completed his degree in Computer Science. He may start blogging again."
